Atas Kerjasama dengan OKI and OF-Networks Japan
OF Networks (OFN) adalah sebuah grup perusahaan dari OKI-Jepang, yang mengembangkan dan menjual peralatan akses broadband dan telah sukses menerapkan GE-PON untuk Sistem LAN optik di Kab. Tanah Datar, Sumatera Barat Indonesia, dengan bekerjasama dengan Telecommunication Technology Committee (TTC) Jepang. Hal ini adalah untuk yang pertama di Kabupaten di Indonesia, yang memasang jaringan optik LAN menggunakan sistem GE-PON tersebut. GE-PON adalah Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Network yang dapat dipakai di bangunan untuk kelancaran jaringan fiber sebagai (FTTH/FTTB) atau Fiber To The Home/Fiber To The Building, dan juga merupakan peralatan akses optik yang paling cocok untuk konstruksi akses broadband di gedung perkantoran, hotel dan kompleks bangunan-bangunan lainnya. Upacara pembukaannya dilaksanakan pada 19 April 2012 lalu, yang menandai pengoperasiannya. Penggunaan Optik LAN berkualitas 1Gbps ini dapat membantu pemecahan masalah kesenjangan digital di daerah pedesaan dan membantu penyelenggaraan suasana dan efektifitas kerja pemerintahan di Kabupaten Tanah Datar.
Beberapa tahun terakhir Negara Indonesia telah memacu terlaksananya TIK Teknologi Informasi Komunikasi dalam menjembatani kesenjangan digital antara perkotaan dan pedesaan yang menghasilkan pertumbuhan ekonomi. Pemerinta Indonesia termasuk pemerintah daerah di masing-masing Kabupaten/Kota telah melaksanakan berbagai usaha dalam hal ini. Salah satunya Pemerintah Kabupaten Tanah Datar, yang tidak hanya fokus terhadap kesempatan akses yang sama tetapi juga menyelenggarakan proses administrasi yang efektif dalam pekerjaan pemerintahan.
Pada tahun 2009, OFN dan TTC, telah bekerjasama dengan Kementerian Kominfo RI dalam membangun Jaringan Optik LAN dengan menggunakan GE-PON dan telah melaksanakan bermacam pengembangan terhadap akes optik ini. Ruang lingkup proyek tersebut termasuk meminimalisir kesenjangan digital tersebut, Pemkab Tanah Datar juga memanfaatkannya sehingga mengurangi penyampaian dokumen kerja antar kantor, termasuk juga pengelolaan berkas kerja. Terutama dalam memajukan sistem keuangan (SIMDA). Sedangkan OFN juga membantu dalam hal pemanfaatan TIK.
Pemerintah Kabupaten sangat menghargai pemanfaatan GE-PON tersebut yag telah di’implementasi’kan sebagaimana di pemerintahan di daerah lainnya di Jepang, serta juga telah dimanfaatkan di untuk telekomunikasi dan di perusahaan CATV yang memakai internet, IP phone dan pelayanan distribusi video. Keberhasilannya lainnya adalah faktor yang mendorong Pemkab. Tanah Datar dalam mengopearsikan LAN Optik dan GE-PON. Hal ini sangat membantu pengurangan kesenjangan digital serta mendorong efisiensi pekerjaan. Ditambah dengan rencana pemkab untuk merealisasikan bermacam aplikasi lainnya pada Optik LAN termasuk permasalahan kesehatan, dan perikanan, pertanian industri melalui pemanfaatan TIK.
Sebelum didistribusikan ke Pemkab Tanah Datar, OFN telah mendapat sertifikat untuk produk GE-PON tersebut, yang dikeluarkan oleh Kemenkomin RI, melalui Dirjen POSTEL, Ini adalah yang pertama didapat oleh perusahaan Jepang. Sertifikat ini termasuk untuk kapasitas sebagai agen penjualan dan promosi peralatan telekomunikasi dalam negara Indonesia. Dengan telah suksesnya proyek ini, OFN berencana akan aktif dengan pemanfaatan sistem GE-PON di berbagai Kabupaten/Kota, Operator Telkom, gedung bertingkat dan kompleks Industri yang tumbuh dengan pesat.
Dalam perencanaan ke depan, Tanah Datar tetap ingin melanjutkan kerjasama dengan OKI dan OF Networks dalam memajukan TIK di Tanah Datar.
Keuntungan dengan pemakaian Optik LAN dengan sistem GE-PON
(1) Pengurangan kesenjangan digital antara pedesaan.
(2) Pengurangan penggunaan kertas government by paperless environment.
(3) Penyebarluasan Informasi antar SKPD.
(4) Akses yang cepat, terutama dalam pemanfaatan sistem SIMDA.

PRESS RELEASE OF TANAH DATAR DISTRICT GOVERNMENT
On cooperation with OKI and OF Networks Japan
OF Networks (OFN), a group company of OKI-Japan, who develops and sells broadband access devices, has successfully delivered GE-PON for optical LAN system to Tanah Datar, West Sumatra, Indonesia, with the cooperation of Telecommunication Technology Committee (TTC). This is the first time a municipality in Indonesia has inslled an optical LAN using GE-PON system. GE-PON is short for Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Network) which is suitable for building carrier-grade Fiber to the Home/Building (FTTH/FTTB), and is the best optical access device for constructing the broadband environment for office buildings, hotels and MDUs. The opening ceremony was held in April 19th 2012 which marked the start of the operation. This deployment of high-quality 1Gbps optical LAN will contribute to resolving the digital divide in rural area and improving the work environment in Tanah Datar prefectural government.
Indonesia has tried to improve ICT to bridge the digital divide between cities and rural areas, which subsequently resulted from a rapid economic growth in recent years. Indonesian government as well as each municipality has taken various actions to improve the situation. Among others, Tanah Datar prefectural government focused not only the equal access to information but also the effective administrative procedures within the government work.
In 2009, OFN and TTC, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (KEMENKOMINFO RI) started building an optical LAN using GE-PON in Tanah Datar and have conducted experimental trials of optical access. The scope of those trials included the digital divide of course, but also the delivery of the business documents between the office buildings as well as the complexity in the document management of hard copies. Especially in improving its financial Information System (also known as SIMDA). OFN also promoted the solutions using ICT.
Tanah Datar prefectural government highly valued the performance of GE-PON and its high implementation rate by the Japanese municipalities, and telecommunication and CATV companies who provide internet, IP phone and video distribution services. Its good results from the trials were another factor that drove Tanah Datar government to the commercial operation of the optical LAN with GE-PON. This adoption is believed to bridge the digital divide and enhance the efficiency of the administrative work at the prefectural government. Furthermore, the local government officials aim to realize various applications on the optical LAN infrastructure and resolve various problems in health care, fishing, and agriculture industries through the utilization of ICT.
Before the delivery, OFN has obtained GE-PON's product certification issued by Post and Telecommunication of Indonesia (POSTEL) for the first time as a Japanese PON manufacture. This certification is required for selling and promoting telecommunication devices within the country. Having achieved the success of this project, OFN plans to actively pursue further implementation of GE-PON system in other municipalities, telecommunication operators, high rise apartments in urban areas, and industrial parks with rapid growth in business.
Regarding its future plan, Tanah Datar Regency plan to keep working together in cooperation with OKI and OF Networks in utilizing ICT in the region.
